Mia and The Black Dog Ranch Gang

Hi Everyone, It's me Mia.
Well this has been a great week for us here at Black Dog Ranch. Spring is finally here and Teddie is so happy that he just has to roll around and act silly!
Angel is getting ready to go stay with Ms. Darla for a week or two until she gets better from her surgery. Ms. Darla is helping Ms. Charlene out by taking Angel to the Vet. She said that it is very important for people to have their pets spayed and neutered as well as having them vaccinated for diseases. Ms. Charlene told me that although Angel has only been around for a week or two she is really going to miss her when she goes to Ms. Darla's place. Angel was very scared when she first came here. She didn't want Ms. Charlene to pick her up because she didn't know if she could trust anyone again. Me and the others told her how wonderful Ms. Charlene is to all of us and that if she would just give Ms. Charlene a chance she would really love her a lot. Well this morning it was raining and Ms. Charlene started passing out the cookies on our front porch and guess what happened. Angel jumped up on Ms. Charlene's lap and Ms. Charlene picked her up and spent a long time giving Angel some much needed hugs and love. Angel is starting to realize that there really are second chances in this world.
Well we have lots of things coming up in the next couple of months. Book Readings, Book Signings, and Book Fairs. Be sure and check out our Event Calender on our website for dates and times. Ms. Charlene is taking my book to all of them and I get to go to some of the events too! I can't wait to meet all those wonderful kids and adults and give them a big lick right on the face!

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Bunch

Hi everyone, it's me Mia,

I'm making a silly face for Ms. Charlene and the camera. Ms. Charlene says I'm cute no matter what kind of face I make though.

Well our new fence is almost done. Ms. Charlene and Ms. Marie have worked on it several times this past week and they only have a little of it left to finish. I heard Ms. Charlene saying to Ms. Marie she will be glad when that happens cause she is getting really tired of fence building. She must think we are worth it though because she keeps telling all of us how much she loves us and how important we all are.

Lots of other things are going on around here too. Ms. Charlene came home from work the other day and a little dog, which is now named Angel. She looks a lot like a wirehair terrier breed. Ms. Charlene doesn't know how she ended up down there on the road, but she figured that someone decided that they just didn't want her anymore and dumped her off. That makes Ms. Charlene very sad and mad too! She said that dogs don't have a choice about how they end up in these situations and it is such a shame because all we dogs ever want or ask for is to be loved and in return we give love unconditionally.

So if anyone out there is looking for a new best friend please contact Ms. Charlene at her website; blackdogrescueranch.com. Angel is sure to bring amazing blessings to any family willing to give her a second chance!

Well Ms. Charlene is going to have a busy week next week and I guess that means me too. The Children's Hospital in St. Louis has ask Ms. Charlene to come and read my book to all of the kids that are staying there until they get well. Ms. Charlene is very excited to tell them all about "Stories from Black Dog Ranch" and us back here at the ranch. The Life Center where older people live in St. Louis also wants Ms. Charlene to come and tell them about my book and the really cool part of this one is they want me to come too! I can't wait to see all of those nice people and maybe give them a big kiss.

Mia

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Gang

Hi Everyone, it's me Mia,
Well this week has been a new beginning for all of us here at the ranch. Ms. Charlene and some of her friends and family started building our new fence. It's not done yet, but pretty soon Teddie is not going to be able to take us to the woods behind our farm. I don't think he is going to be very happy about that either. Ever since Teddie has lived here at the ranch he thinks it is his job to guard the woods as well as the farm, but Ms. Charlene told Teddie she doesn't think it is safe in those woods because there could be hunters and someone might get hurt. so Ms. Charlene is going to make sure our new fence is going to keep us safe. I think Betty is glad that we will have to stay around the farm. She told me that she is tired of getting all of those burrs in her hair anyway. She said the only reason she followed the rest of us is because she didn't want to miss out on something cool like seeing a rabbit or a squirrel, but now that we will all be staying home she can just enjoy her chew bones and laying around in the sun.
Ms. Charlene said she has a lot of schools wanting her to come and read my book to all of the children and she is really excited about that. She told me that everybody wants to hear my stories and learn all about us here at Black Dog Ranch. She said that I might get to go with her to a couple of special book signings too! I would just love to meet all of those kids and give them a kiss. The more Ms. Charlene gets my book out there the more we can help other dogs and horses find loving forever homes. Ms. Charlene said that is what is really important and I think so too.
Well that's it for now. Talk more soon,
Mia

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Gang

Hi everyone it's me Mia,

I'm sitting on our picnic table with Molly and Mickey. Mickey always has to try and show off a little for Ms. Charlene (boys are silly) so he is doing a trick by standing and sitting at the same time and giving the camera a big smile.

Well it has certainly been a busy week down here at the ranch. Last Sunday Ms. Charlene took me with her to another town. We went to visit a friend of Ms. Charlene's who has a big barn where she takes care of horses. It was really cool because I got to walk around everywhere with Ms. Charlene and visit all the horses that lived there. The best part though was I got to meet my very first "cat"! Ms. Charlene was a little worried that we wouldn't like each other, but I ended up really liking that kitty. I smelled all over her for a long time and when it was time to go I kept looking back to see if maybe she wanted to go home with us and live at the ranch.

Ms. Charlene and her friend Ms. Marie went somewhere yesterday in Ms. Marie's big truck and when they got back they had a bunch of big logs in the back of the truck. They unloaded them in the front yard and we sure had fun chasing each other and jumping over them. Then Willa told us what Ms. Charlene was going to do with those logs. Willa said Ms. Charlene is building a new fence to keep all of us safe. Willa said Ms. Charlene has been worried about us roaming around in the woods back behind our farm so she is going to put up a special fence so we won't get lost or hurt. Willa said not to worry to much about it because we will still have a lot of room to run and play!

O.K., one last thing. We have a new friend, Jake. Ms. Marie found him last week hiding down by the dumpster and like Ms. Charlene she already has a lot of dogs and horses to take care of so we need to find Jake a good home. He is very handsome, as you can see, and he is very sweet. He would make a perfect dog for any little girl or boy because he loves to play and play. We don't know what kind of dog Jake is, but he is young, maybe 6-8 months old. So if there is anyone out there that would give Jake a second chance at happiness with a loving family I just know that he will bring someone an amazing amount of joy, loyalty and love. Jake told us he doesn't know why he ended up down by that dumpster he only wants to make someone happy! Please contact Ms. Charlene on her website contact page; http://www.blackdogrescueranch.com/

That's all for now. Talk to you soon,

Mia
