Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
Well it is still really hot, but we have been getting some storms down here at the ranch.
Mickey is afraid of storms so when it thunders he runs and hides under his special hiding place in the garage. Ms. Charlene told us not to make fun of him because we all have little things about ourselves that make us different and it's a much more interesting world to have some differences.
The heat and the storms
don't seem to affect Betty too much.
As long as she has her chew bones she's happy. This one is so big she had to take a break and rest after dragging it all over the farm trying to make sure nobody else got it.
Ms. Charlene says she will be glad when it does cool off so she can get back to riding the horses. She says that Fall is just around the corner and she is looking forward to going on some great trail rides with great scenery like the one here!
Well I better go for now, don't forget to stop by our website and pick up a copy of our book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch". Proceeds from book sales go to support our Rescue Ranch and we donate to Children's Reading Programs too!

Stories from Black Dog Ranch - Mia and the Gang
Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
Things are going great here at the ranch. Lot's of new people coming out to visit and some old friends too!
Ms. Charlene tried some new food out on us and I have to say it was pretty tasty!
FRIED GREEN TOMATOES! She said there is a movie named that too and it is her all time favorite movie ever!

It is all about real love and friendship and she says that is the most important thing in life!
Most people don't seem to think that nowadays and they're more worried about what others think or what they don't have. Ms. Charlene says everything but true love and friendship turns to dust anyway.
Seems to me that most folks are letting the best things in life pass them by.......
Like a good game of "get my belly" with your brothers and sisters in the green grass of our yard, or the sound of Ms. Charlene calling us up to the front porch for suppertime, the view we have from our front porch at the end of a summer's day.
Ms. Charlene says sitting on the tailgate of the farm's pick-up truck eating a candy bar with your best friend too. Those are just a few of the things that really matter in life.
Oh, and the smell of Fried Green Tomatoes.....
Well better go for now. Talk more soon,
Mia

Stories From Black Dog Ranch - Mia and the Gang
Hi everyone, it's me Mia.
Another hot week here at the ranch. We have been keeping cool by digging up Ms. Charlene's Flower bed and laying in the cool dirt. She doesn't seem to be really happy about it though.
Betty and Teddie got in trouble for digging the biggest holes and they felt really bad about it too!
They laid down by the fence way away from the flowerbed and watched Ms. Charlene fill in all the holes with dirt again.
Not much else has been going on around here, Ms. Charlene said it is way to hot to do much horseback riding and I think all the horses are glad about that.
She says there will be plenty of time this fall to catch up on riding and camping once the weather cools down and her schedule is back to normal.
Well don't forget to stop by our website and pick up your copy of our book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch". http://www.blackdogrescueranch.com/
