Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Bunch

Hi everybody, it's me Mia.
Me and Molly are smiling for Ms. Charlene. She told us to jump up on the bench and give her a big smile so boy did we ever. Ms. Charlene says we are too cute!
Well things are going good here at the ranch. Ms. Charlene has been busy going to schools and reading my book to lots of kids and teachers and parents too. She says that is always so much fun. We have been chasing the horses from the inside of our new fence. Ever since Ms. Charlene put up our new fence we can't go out into the pasture where the horses are, but Teddie doesn't seem to mind whether he is on the inside of the fence he still runs like crazy trying to keep up with the horses out in the field. He has to come back to the front porch afterwards and take a nap, but Ms. Charlene says it's good exercise for Teddie.
Well it seems no matter how great things are there is always those things we have to deal with being dogs or kids. With kids it's having to take a bath just when you get really good and dirty. With dogs it's having to get that stinky yucky "One Spot" put on you!
I just finished a big bowl of Kibbles n Bits and was on my way over to jump up on my favorite bench to take a nap when Mickey and Molly told me what Ms. Charlene was getting ready to put on me! You can see that Betty had already had that stinky "One Spot" put on her back and was rolling around trying to rub it off. Ms. Charlene said it keeps all those nasty bugs off of us and she doesn't want us to get bug bites on us and make us itchy or get sore spots. I know Ms. Charlene only does it because she loves us, but couldn't they come up with something that smelled more like dirt???
p.s. We don't really like to take a bath either!
Well I better go for now. Talk more soon,
Mia

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Gang

Hi everyone, it's me Mia.

Well I know I'm a little late getting this posted, but Ms. Charlene spent this past week-end in Kansas City at the big Pet Expo and she didn't get back until late last night. As you all know I need Ms. Charlene to help me write these stories so she said we would do it tonight.

I'm sitting on our front porch watching my two brothers "rough-house" each other around. I don't know exactly what that means, but that is what Ms. Charlene calls it when Teddie and Mickey play fight.

Ms. Charlene said she had lots of fun in Kansas City this past week-end and she sold lots of my book to great people that really love animals just like she does. She said that they all wanted to meet me and my brothers and sisters too. She took a picture of her booth so I could show you.

You can see a picture of me and right at the top of the storyboard sitting in the front of the booth. All of my brothers and sisters are on there too!

Ms. Charlene's friend, Ms. Marie had to take care of us while our Mom was in Kansas City. Ms. Marie came over everyday and fed us and gave us cookies and lots of love. We really love Ms. Marie because she is a great doggy & horse sitter! We were sure glad when Ms. Charlene came home last night though, it is always good to have the family back together after a long week-end apart. Well be sure and check out our events calander on the website, we have lots of new stuff coming up in the near future.

Talk more soon,

Mia

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Bunch

Hi everyone it's me Mia,
Happy Easter! If you are wondering why I'm laying down; since it was a special day being Easter and all of the wonderful things that means Ms. Charlene gave us STEAK for dinner tonight and boy was it good! We got really sleepy though and had to take a nap afterwards.
Ms. Charlene thought I was funny and took my picture.
Mickey is feeling better now. He had to go to the Vet this week and get some shots and some minor surgery done for some "boy" thing. He also got medicine he has to take for a few days, but I don't think he minds to much because
Ms. Charlene hides it in cheese and Mickey loves cheese.
We want to say a great big Thank You to Ms. Darla for paying for everything at the Vet for Mickey. Ms. Charlene got laid off from her job a couple of weeks ago and she said that it is so wonderful to have great friends like Ms. Darla willing to help out when one of us needs to go to the doctor.
Our friend Jake is still looking for a loving forever home. He is soooo cute and a really good young dog. He loves to play and has lots of energy so if there is a family out there with some kids that would love a great dog to play with everyday, please contact Ms. Charlene at our contacts page on our website; www.blackdogrescueranch.com
Jake deserves a second chance and a loving home.
Ms. Charlene is going to Kansas City next week-end to the Kansas City Pet Expo. She is going up there to sell my book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch". She said their theme is "No More Homeless Pets". The people that will be there really care about dogs like us so she is going to make the long trip up there to tell them about me and my brothers and sisters and our book.
Well I better go for now talk more soon,
Mia

Mia and the Gang from Black Dog Ranch

Hi everyone, it's me Mia,

Well it has been a very busy week around here. Ms. Charlene has gone to a lot of Book Readings and Book Signings and she said that everyone really wants to meet me. She tells everyone she meets about how special I am and what a blessing me and the others have been to her. I'm not sure what that means, but it must be something good because when Ms. Charlene was telling us about it I got to sit on her lap. Ms. Charlene said I am almost too big to fit there, but she doesn't mind. She gave us chicken strips and big knotted chew bones too!

Teddie had to get on to Mickey because he always tries to get more than his share of the chicken strips when they are being passed out. Ms. Charlene said that Mickey can't help himself because he is her little cookie monster. I think that's a good way to describe him too!

Well I'm worried about Ms. Charlene, she lost her job this week and she has been kind of down in the dumps. She said that we are the only thing that keeps her going sometimes. She is hoping that my Book, Stories From Black Dog Ranch, will take off eventually so she won't have to worry about having money to take care of all of us. She said when the good Lord closes one door that means he is getting ready to open another one. I hope that is true because we love Ms. Charlene and don't want to see her worry so much.

Ms. Charlene has a book signing at the Jefferson County Windsor Library in Barnhart, Missouri tomorrow night and guess what; I get to go with her!!! I can't wait to meet all of those wonderful people, especially the kids and give them all a big kiss right on the nose. I hope lots of kids come out to see us and hopefully buy my book so they can take it home and read it all the time. The one bad thing about going with Ms. Charlene to these things is I have to have a bath first. I really don't understand why. I mean don't kids like dirt too??? Maybe some day grown up humans will understand the health benefits of dirt. Kids and dogs and dirt just seem to go together; don't they?

Well I better go for now. Talk more soon,

Mia
