Stories From Black Dog Ranch, Mia and the Gang

Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
Well this has been another great week-end here at the ranch. Ms. Charlene spent a lot of time giving us lots of love and attention and even some special brushing too. Molly has always been a little afraid of the brush until recently she decided to let Ms. Charlene brush her and that is Molly in this picture giving her a big kiss for brushing her today.
I guess everyone remembers when I told you about Ms. Charlene doing everything she could think of to keep us from digging up her flowerbeds and mulch??? This week-end she put this red stuff she called pepper on the mulch and told us we wouldn't like smelling of it and that it would keep us out of the mulch. Boy was she right!! You know normally us dogs like things that smell bad, we even like to roll in stuff that smells bad, but not this red stuff. It makes all of us sneeze! Ms. Charlene laughed at us and said she would rather we sneeze a little and stay away from the mulch than to use something like chemicals that would hurt us because she loves us sooooo much. I guess she finally taught us a lesson about digging up the mulch.
Ms. Charlene and Ms. Marie went on another one of those silly trail rides this week-end too. Ms. Marie gave them all horse cookies afterwards and they followed her around for a long time after all the treats were gone too!
Well I guess I better go for now. I hope everyone out there remembers to buy a copy of my book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch". It's a great book and it's about all of us here at the ranch.

A Great Children's Book! Stories from Black Dog Ranch; More Stories from Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Gang

Hi Everyone. It's me Mia.
What a wonderful week-end it was. The weather around here has been great! Not too hot and nice and cool in the evenings so we have been doing a lot of playing!!!
Ms. Charlene took a few pictures for you to look at us playing out in the front yard.
Mickey and Teddie always try to be the "cutest" in all the pictures because they think Ms. Charlene will give them extra cookies....and it works because she says she just can't resist those big smiles they give her.
I still think they are just silly boys, they are always wrestling around.
Well, this is starting out to be a pretty interesting week. Ms. Charlene has started bush hogging the pastures for the horses. We don't get to go out there when she is bush hogging because she says that one of us might get hurt so we just sit on the front porch and watch her go around and around on the tractor. Most of us get pretty sleepy watching so in the end we all sleep while Ms. Charlene works here on the ranch making things great for all of us animals that live here. We love her sooooo much and think we are all pretty lucky to be loved by Ms. Charlene.
Well Ms. Charlene is trying to find someone out there to publish my book into the mainstream so we can reach more kids out there that would like to hear my stories. She has been working on that a lot lately so if any of you great people out there know of any publishers or agents, please let me know so I can tell Ms. Charlene.
I guess I better go for now, talk more soon,
Mia

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Animals

Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
Well another week has gone by here at Black Dog Ranch and we are all doing fine. Ms. Charlene went to her good friends Julie & Johnny's Tack Sale at Kaylyn Stables in Desoto Missouri this past week-end. (where they sale stuff for horses). We don't understand why Ms. Charlene likes all that stuff to do with horses....
We think horses are kind of silly. Teddie says he doesn't know what the big deal is about horses anyway because they can't bury bones and he has never once seen Dixie or Gracie or Smokey or any of them catch a squirrel or a rabbit. The more Teddie and Mickey got to talking about it the more worked up they got over the whole horse thing and then I had to remind them that it's not like Ms. Charlene can put a saddle on one of them and go for a ride or anything like that....
Teddie and Mickey felt kind of silly themselves after I said that and I really think the whole thing was because Teddie wants ALL of Ms. Charlene's attention ALL of the time. We think she does a pretty good job of giving Teddie a lot of attention, but I guess you could say Teddie is a real attention hog!
Ms. Charlene said she had a good time at the Tack Sale and she even took this picture of kids getting to take pony rides during the sale. This little girl's name is Molly and all the adults made sure she was safe and didn't fall off of the pony.
Kaylyn Stables is a great place for kids this summer. They offer riding lessons and summer camp. So for all of you horses lovers out there like Ms. Charlene, give them a call at; 314-636-0545 and ask for Julie.
Well Ms. Charlene has another special Book Presentation coming up this next week-end. She is looking forward to meeting all of the kids and parents from the Goddard School in Edwardsville, Illinois. She will be presenting my Book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch" and telling eveyone about me and the rest of us here at the ranch. So If you are in the area be sure to stop by and check it out.
Well I better go for now.

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Bunch

Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
Well I hope everyone has had a great July Fourth Holiday week-end. We are very proud to be American Dogs and it has certainly been a great week-end here at the ranch. The weather cooled way down and we were able to get out in the yard and play play play!
We got lots of treats this week-end and some new chew bones. Here's Betty showing off her new chew bone.
Ms. Charlene went on one of those trail rides with her best friend Ms. Marie while me and the others stayed here at the ranch digging some really big holes in the yard to bury our new chew bones.
I don't think Ms. Charlene was very happy about all the new holes we dug up while she was gone, but she said she guessed if you give a dog a bone they will bury it at some point! Ms. Charlene sure does know how we dogs think. We can't help ourselves!
Well I hope everyone remembers our friend Jake here on our Blog he still needs a home. I hope everyone remembers to buy one of our books too!
