Black Dog Rescue Ranch - Mia and the Gang

Hi Everyone. It's me Mia.
Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We certainly did here at the ranch. We even got extra treats and two whole packs of hotdogs! I don't know why they call them hotdogs because they don't look anything like me and my brothers and sisters, but they sure do taste good!
Ms. Charlene had a wonderful time at the Freer Elementary school last week too. Her sister Karen went to the school with her and got to meet some really cool kids. She took lots of pictures too.
Ms. Charlene said that the kids had lots of questions about all of us back here at the ranch and they really wanted to meet all of us too! We told Ms. Charlene that we would love to meet the kids and would be happy to give them lots of licks and tail wags. Going to different schools and telling the kids about our Book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch" is Ms. Charlene's favorite thing to do! She hopes there are more schools that would like to hear about us and our book this school year too.
Well I guess I better go for now, talk more soon,
Mia

Black Dgo Rescue Ranch - Mia and the Gang

Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
I was making a silly face for Ms. Charlene when she took this picture. She said I was funny.
Another week has gone by here at the ranch and we are all getting ready for Thanksgiving around here. Ms. Charlene says this is a time to thank the good Lord for all of his Blessings to us here at the ranch. My brothers, sisters and I are thankful that we have Ms. Charlene and each other too.
Our friends Coco and Daisy are thankful for Ms. Marie who takes such good care of them and having each other to keep their backs warm on a cool afternoon!
Ms. Charlene's Best Friend, Ms. Marie is thankful for having such a sweet and beautiful grandson, Oakley and a wonderful and gentle horse like Chance that will carry them both safely on their journey.
Oakley he is thankful for having such a loving Mommy that fixes his favorite meal "sketti" and doesn't mind if he gets a little messy while eating it.
I guess well all have something to be grateful and thankful for this Holiday season. So don't forget to tell those you love how grateful you are to have them in your life and how much they mean to you! All of us here at the ranch are thankful that our readers take time out of their busy day to read our stories about what is going on at the ranch and to those who have bought our book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch" to learn more about us.
We hope everyone out there has a Blessed and Wonderful Thanksgiving this coming week!
Talk more soon,
Mia

Black Dog Rescue Ranch - Mia and the Gang

Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
Things are going well here at the ranch.
It is a cool Fall day today and Ms. Charlene said our coats are getting really thick and fuzzy. Nature's way of preparing us for the winter months ahead. Ms. Charlene says it is amazing how the Good Lord's Creation knows just when to do things at the right times.
We really don't know why Ms. Charlene gets so worked up about stuff like that because we have always known certain things that humans don't know especially when it comes to "Nature". I told Betty that we should just let Ms. Charlene carry on about it though because it seems to make her happy and we love her soooo much.
Ms. Charlene took her sister horseback riding this past week-end and the horse she was riding tried to lay down and roll over with Ms. Charlene's sister still on him!! Ms. Charlene was kind of freaking out, but her sister seemed pretty clam about it and since nobody got hurt they all
laughed about afterwards.
See Teddie, I told you about those silly horses!
Well I guess I better go for now.
Talk more soon,
Mia

Black Dog Rescue Ranch - Mia and the Gang

Hi Everyone. It's me Mia.
We are all doing great here at the ranch. It has been very nice weather this week so Ms. Charlene has been spending a lot of time outside playing with us and of course those silly horses.

I told my brothers and sisters I don't know why Ms. Charlene thinks those horses are so special. I mean they can't do tricks like Maggie can. Maggie can roll over, shake paws, speak, sit and lay down. I just don't understand what the big deal is about those silly horses and why Ms. Charlene makes such a fuss about them. Well I guess I got carried away going on and on about the horses because Molly and Teddie finally spoke up and reminded me that the horses are very strong and they can carry Ms. Charlene on their backs across the meadows, through the forest, up mountains and through rivers. Teddie said none of us can do any of that not even Maggie and besides I was just jealous of the horses and I wanted all of Ms. Charlene's attention for myself. After I thought about what Molly and Teddie had said I realized they were right and I shouldn't be so selfish. After all we are one big family, right? Well Ms. Charlene had a great time this week-end at the book signing at Barnes & Noble in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She said she met some awesome people there and is looking forward to talking more with them in the future. She hopes that the schools in that area will want her to come and talk to their kids about my book and all of us here at the ranch too! I better go for now. Talk more soon, Mia

Black Dog Rescue Ranch - Mia and the Gang

Hi everyone. It's me Mia.
Boy has it been a really exciting week here at the ranch. We were playing in the backyard the other day and guess what was snooping around the barn???? A COYOTE! First Molly barked at him and when he turned around it scared her so she ran and told Teddie and the rest of us and we ran to the back fence and bark for a really long time at him. I think he knew that we couldn't get out of the yard so he just hung around for a while and then disappeared. We felt kind of bad because we didn't even scare him off for Ms. Charlene. She said that was ok and that he was just trying to find food for his family and we should probably let him do that as long as he wasn't hurting anyone. Ms. Charlene says he is one of God's creatures just like the rest of us and we really shouldn't judge.
Well Ms. Charlene is looking forward to her book signing at Barnes and Noble in Cape Girardeau, Missouri next week-end on the 7th of November. We hope everyone can stop by and say hello and pick up a copy of my book, "Stories from Black Dog Ranch".
We I better go for now.
Talk more soon,
Mia
