Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Bunch
Hi everyone, it's me Mia,
I'm making a silly face for Ms. Charlene and the camera. Ms. Charlene says I'm cute no matter what kind of face I make though.
Well our new fence is almost done. Ms. Charlene and Ms. Marie have worked on it several times this past week and they only have a little of it left to finish. I heard Ms. Charlene saying to Ms. Marie she will be glad when that happens cause she is getting really tired of fence building. She must think we are worth it though because she keeps telling all of us how much she loves us and how important we all are.
Lots of other things are going on around here too. Ms. Charlene came home from work the other day and a little dog, which is now named Angel. She looks a lot like a wirehair terrier breed. Ms. Charlene doesn't know how she ended up down there on the road, but she figured that someone decided that they just didn't want her anymore and dumped her off. That makes Ms. Charlene very sad and mad too! She said that dogs don't have a choice about how they end up in these situations and it is such a shame because all we dogs ever want or ask for is to be loved and in return we give love unconditionally.
So if anyone out there is looking for a new best friend please contact Ms. Charlene at her website; blackdogrescueranch.com. Angel is sure to bring amazing blessings to any family willing to give her a second chance!
Well Ms. Charlene is going to have a busy week next week and I guess that means me too. The Children's Hospital in St. Louis has ask Ms. Charlene to come and read my book to all of the kids that are staying there until they get well. Ms. Charlene is very excited to tell them all about "Stories from Black Dog Ranch" and us back here at the ranch. The Life Center where older people live in St. Louis also wants Ms. Charlene to come and tell them about my book and the really cool part of this one is they want me to come too! I can't wait to see all of those nice people and maybe give them a big kiss.

Mia and the Black Dog Ranch Gang
Hi everyone it's me Mia,
I'm sitting on our picnic table with Molly and Mickey. Mickey always has to try and show off a little for Ms. Charlene (boys are silly) so he is doing a trick by standing and sitting at the same time and giving the camera a big smile.
Well it has certainly been a busy week down here at the ranch. Last Sunday Ms. Charlene took me with her to another town. We went to visit a friend of Ms. Charlene's who has a big barn where she takes care of horses. It was really cool because I got to walk around everywhere with Ms. Charlene and visit all the horses that lived there. The best part though was I got to meet my very first "cat"! Ms. Charlene was a little worried that we wouldn't like each other, but I ended up really liking that kitty. I smelled all over her for a long time and when it was time to go I kept looking back to see if maybe she wanted to go home with us and live at the ranch.
Ms. Charlene and her friend Ms. Marie went somewhere yesterday in Ms. Marie's big truck and when they got back they had a bunch of big logs in the back of the truck. They unloaded them in the front yard and we sure had fun chasing each other and jumping over them. Then Willa told us what Ms. Charlene was going to do with those logs. Willa said Ms. Charlene is building a new fence to keep all of us safe. Willa said Ms. Charlene has been worried about us roaming around in the woods back behind our farm so she is going to put up a special fence so we won't get lost or hurt. Willa said not to worry to much about it because we will still have a lot of room to run and play!
O.K., one last thing. We have a new friend, Jake. Ms. Marie found him last week hiding down by the dumpster and like Ms. Charlene she already has a lot of dogs and horses to take care of so we need to find Jake a good home. He is very handsome, as you can see, and he is very sweet. He would make a perfect dog for any little girl or boy because he loves to play and play. We don't know what kind of dog Jake is, but he is young, maybe 6-8 months old. So if there is anyone out there that would give Jake a second chance at happiness with a loving family I just know that he will bring someone an amazing amount of joy, loyalty and love. Jake told us he doesn't know why he ended up down by that dumpster he only wants to make someone happy! Please contact Ms. Charlene on her website contact page; http://www.blackdogrescueranch.com/
That's all for now. Talk to you soon,
Mia

Hello from Mia and Black Dog Ranch

Hi everyone, I guess you are wondering why my nose is soooo dirty. Well this past week Ms. Charlene thought all of us would really like a big beef bone and boy was she right! Me and my brothers and sisters chewed on those bones practically all day yesterday and then it dawn on me that if I didn't hide mine at some point Teddie or Mickey was going to take it. So I spent a good deal of time finding just the right spot on the ranch to bury my bone. I found a perfect spot and I'm sure that nobody is going to find it now. Of course Ms. Charlene spotted the place I dug up and bury my bone and I don't think she was real happy with me digging a huge hole in the front yard.....Ms. Charlene loves me more than anything though, thank goodness, so she just laughed at my dirty nose and said she guessed that there are bigger things in life to get all worked up over and it was only dirt anyway.
We spent the rest of our time this past week laying around in the backyard. Teddie kept an eye on the ranch while we soaked up some sunshine. We are sure grateful he keeps an eye on things too because the rest of us got really sleepy laying there in the sun! Talk more soon, Mia

Hi everyone, it's me Mia, well I went to dog school this past week and it really wasn't all that scary. Ms. Charlene put me in the truck (that part I didn't like at all) and we went to town where the teacher lived. He was a nice man and he kept trying to get me to eat chicken treats, but I wasn't having any of it. I don't think he realizes that Ms. Charlene gives us lots of treats back at the ranch and being a smart dog I don't take treats from strangers. He also didn't realize that I love Ms. Charlene soooo much that all she had to do was ask me to walk with her on my new leash and I would do it without treats. Maybe the teacher needs a lesson in the power of love, huh? Ms. Charlene and the treacher talked for a long time while I just kind of walked around smelling everything. There was lots of other dog smells there. After a long time we finally got back into the truck and went home. Ms. Charlene talked to me on our way home and she said that we would work things out ourselves, I was much to smart to have a stranger train me and it should be something between us anyway. I think that is a good idea. p.s. After we got back into the truck Ms. Charlene gave me all of those chicken treats and I ate everyone of them!
